The Caribbean Medical Association and the 120- year-old Club summon their VI International Congress: Satisfactory Longevity. This scientific event will take place in Havana from May 21st to 24th, 2008 in its regular headquarters, Hotel Nacional de Cuba, symbol of Cuban hotels.

Population aging imposes the unavoidable goal to assure, along the vital cycle, activities and actions that make people grow and develop according to their bio psychosocial necessities

The search for alternatives that allow reaching lingering and successful existences is a necessity of human beings. Accordingly, all sectors of the society must mobilize resources and efforts to reach the goal of a satisfactory longevity together.

As we go through the different stages of the vital cycle, longevity options appear, opening the possibility of a better social insertion. Currently, there are methods and interventions that permit continuation of life according to people’s expectations.

Keeping in mind these reasons, the VI International Congress: Satisfactory Longevity has summoned to the participation on the central topic:

Cuban Biotechnology for longevity and quality of life. Besides, the meeting will deal with usual topics: motivation, nourishment, health, physical activity, culture and environment.

The IV International Meeting of Centennials will be a special activity within the Congress with the presence of Cuban centennials, for our Club’s and country’s pride, as examples of exceptional and successful survival.

The "120-year-old Club", avant-garde of the work to rescue the intergenerational exchanges and learning from senior people’s experiences, invites to participate specially aged people from Cuba and all over the world to a meeting with the aim to learn from all and to exchange knowledge about how to achieve long and productive lives.

At the same time, we will celebrate the V Festival “Joy of Living”, a way to offer elders from all over the world, the necessary knowledge and happiness to achieve a satisfactory longevity. Participants in the Festival will have a specialized entertainment and learning program aimed to elders who will be able to attend Congress sessions of their interest.

Cuba, which offers an exceptional scenario, where all the social sectors articulate in function of human beings life, will receive scientists from all the branches of knowledge in order to debate these experiences

We are looking forward to have you all in spring 2008 to exchange ideas about "what to do to live 120 years."
